About South Georgia Karting's Owen Lloyd
Owen Lloyd is one of the top drivers in Briggs 206 4-cycle sprint karting. At just 17 years old, Lloyd has built a championship résumé that many racers spend a lifetime chasing.
From his local track at 103rd Street Sports Complex in Jacksonville, Florida, to regional and national racing with series including World Karting Association (WKA) and Cup Karts North America (CKNA), Lloyd has racked up a list of wins and championships that rival any driver in 4-cycle sprint karting.
Owen has been crowned a champion in every division he’s raced, collecting wins on seven different chassis brands. He captured his first Senior class victory at just 14 years old, showcasing the talent and maturity that have carried him to the top ranks of karting.
Today, Owen continues to compete with his family-owned team led by his parents, Arnold and Christine Lloyd. The team fields North Carolina-made MGM Espionage chassis powered by Capps Racing-built Briggs 206 engines.
Early Start & Family Legacy
Racing runs deep in Owen’s family. His grandfather was a dirt track racer and former owner of Golden Isle Speedway in Brunswick, Georgia. Two of his uncles also competed as late model racers, continuing the family’s passion for motorsports.
Owen’s own love for racing began when he was just four years old, watching his older brothers, Aren and Tyler Lloyd, compete in karting with WKA and CKNA, where they both earned numerous championships. Inspired by their success, Owen jumped into a kart of his own — and hasn’t looked back since.
Today
Now a seasoned racer with over a decade of experience, Owen continues to push himself at the national level, consistently competing against the best drivers in the country. His dedication, skill, and proven track record make him a rising star in the world of motorsports.
